I recently finished reading the book “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand. And the table impressed me that I wanted to write a few rows from the drive of this wonderful book.
I would like to speak briefly and try to describe the main idea of the book, it is that the capitalist system, in essence, does not lack the greatest justice, but the greatest morality.
The novel describes an epic fantasy about how the social populists came to rule the United States, leading the country to chaos, famine and a huge war. It is described in a very naturalistic way what happens when people do not want to take responsibility on themselves, and dump it on others throughout the entire management system. This is where the idea of “everyone follows their capabilities and always their needs” is promoted. As a result, the brightest minds of the region simply know that the powers are deprived of control over all their enterprises. And what is the result? The state is simply not ready to deal with all the deprived “state”. In this case, faceless committees are created, which are trying to redistribute the goods that they “demand”, created by those who can still earn it and trying to fight for their power, earned with their own hands and their minds. And if the rest “know”, the country will be surrounded by darkness and chaos.
And without being surprised by the fact that the book was written in 1957, many moments of the book are depicted accurately and effectively, even though it would not seem confusing.
So who is John Galt?
You can find out about this by reading the book yourself :-).
I highly recommend it.
