Today, I want to use one of the necessary tools of the project manager – RASCI diagrams. RASCI Dosit often, conducting consultations, trainings, I feel that one of the reasons for recent projects is an unclear distribution of functions who are in the middle of the project team, as well as those who have suddenly realized But what do the team members and the project manager look out for in particular?

To minimize such axes of risks and risks, a RASCI diagram or matrix is called.

If you search on the Internet, you can find a number of different approaches and abbreviations: RACI, RACI-VS, DACI and a few others, including Russian versions.

I especially like RASCI itself.

How to fold such a matrix?

It’s simple: 1) You indicate the transfer of functions/tasks, separate the ones you need and write them to the operator.

2) In the top row, write the ROLES of the participants in the project management team (if there is a need to distribute the work between them) or the participants of any group. Alternatively, you can write horizontally the specific names of the participants in order to effectively promote the roles.

3) On the transfer of functions/tasks and roles, set the letter or the name from RASCI.

So, what do the letters mean in the names of the diagrams: R – Responsable – Who is PERSPECTIVE for the assigned function/task;

A – Approve – Who can confirm the results of the assigned function/setting;

S – Support – Who helps you to remove the function/task;

C – Consulted – From whom can you obtain consultation regarding your functions/tasks;

I – Informed – Who must be informed about the results of the assigned function/task.

One of the key rules for creating diagrams is that letters such as R and A should ideally be one at a time. There are a lot of fragments of letters R, it is important to know the one who is really reliable for this task.

If the letter A is rich, then you can tighten the agreement and praise of the final decision.

Another key rule is to create such a diagram as quickly as possible with the entire team. Some members of the project management team can make good use of other tasks and clearly understand their area of responsibility.

Such a diagram can be used at different stages of the project and for different tasks, but its main purpose is to clearly understand the division of functions between different roles.

It is also easy to be careful when dividing functions between different organizations or within the framework of describing different processes.

So the tool must be hand-held and brown. Perhaps you will find plenty of other options for consolidation.

And today is all.

Try it!!! Zastosovite! Experiment!

Successful projects to you!
